The Very Rev. Antoinette “Toni” Pineau
Raised as an atheist, I have been, nonetheless, a seeker all my life. I sampled many churches over the years, longing for a God “connection.” I loved the ritual of the Catholic church but could not adhere to the dogmatic belief required for membership. Then, I attended a Liberal Catholic service. I felt transported by the incense, the bells, the music, the poetic liturgy; and I was not required to, “leave my brain outside the door.”
I was admitted to the seminary in the fall of 2010 and, to my great joy, ordained to the priesthood in February 2016 on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Liberal Catholic Church International. |
